I’m not usually one for dieting but I have to be honest you get to that stage in life, (I have just turned 51), where you find your putting an extra few pounds here and there and then you realise 'Wow I have a podge going on and my jeans aren’t fitting particularly well’.

The 5:2 Diet

The 5:2 Diet

I have really struggled to keep my weight down, but to be fair I haven't really tried too hard due to not having time as being a busy mum of 4 and a business owner. So when I heard about the 5:2 diet and that they wanted people to trial it, I thought it was the perfect excuse to shed those extra pounds.

I have had the food delivered today and looking at it, the meals look really good and the portions are really quite decent. With this particular diet you have 5 days of eating your regular meals, and then two days a week you eat the Fast Diet meals with the reduced calories. For women your calorie count should be about 500 on the two ‘fast’ days, and 600 for men.

I am going to start it in the morning and will give you an update over the next month of my progress. My measurements I’m keeping to myself for now (I’ll reveal at the end of the trial), but my current weight I am happy to share: 5'8 and 12 stone 7lb.

So Friday 4th July let's bring it on, my other fast day will be on a Wednesday - 5:2 Fast Diet here we go!
