Ingredients:
12ozs Wholemeal Flour
4ozs Plain White Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda (Bread Soda)
1/2 Pint Buttermilk
Method:
Preheat your oven to 220C / gas mark 7
Sift the white flour, wholemeal flour, salt and bread soda, and mix thoroughly
Make a well in the centre and add the buttermilk
Mix the ingredients into a soft dough
Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough lightly so that it is a couple of inches thick, and in a rectangle shape.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in the oven for 30 minutes
Spread a smooth rich dollop of Kerrygold butter on your freshly baked bread and enjoy!
