Chocolate Yule Log
The tradition of the Yule log dates back to pagan times, when on the Eve of the winter Solstice, a log would be brought into the home, for the holiday fire. Splinters from last years Yule log had been hidden around the home to ward off evil spirits, and were used to light the log.
The Log would burn through the solstice night and smoulder for 12 days, before being ceremonially put out.
