JUST EAT

JUST EAT

If you thought take aways were time consuming and restricted to just one brand or one type of food you are wrong!

JUST EAT solves all of your take-out food issues- picky eaters- no problem, intolerances- don’t fret, varying palates- never fear- JUST EAT take away all the usual worries that you might associate with ordering in.

From American, Italian, Chinese, Indian to your good old English favourites JUST EAT has it all.

Perfect for that Friday night in front of the TV, a birthday party or a gathering of your friends when you can’t be bothered to cook- it is suited to any occasion. Here at Female First we were interested in what JUST EAT could do for a team of hungry journalists on a typical Thursday afternoon.

We weren’t celebrating anything other than the joy of having something different on offer at lunch time. A break from the norm of salads, soups, sandwiches and packets of crisps.

We searched the site to find restaurants that were open at lunch time and Frankie’s came out top. A take out that primarily serves fried chicken, however they also branch out to other foods such as garlic breads, burgers and pizza.

Just type in your postcode and off you go! The site/app selects all of the the restaurants that are nearest you so you can pick up- or some further out of your way and request delivery.

Ordering is easy! Just create an account, on your phone via the FREE APP or online (both of which function exactly the same way). This only takes 5 minutes, so the delivery driver has your address and start to shop. The food is listed within categories so everything is easy to find and once you have selected it- if you change your mind or go over budget you can amend it to suit your needs.

It gives you a full list of what you have requested before paying so you know exactly what you are ordering! If you are in a big team, like us, it was a great tool to shout out and discover if we had missed anyone along the way.

Once the order was placed- we got a confirmation and an estimated ordering time, as well as a phone call. Our order consisted of a healthy 20 items, consisting of drinks, pizza, garlic bread, chicken and sauces. Our estimated delivery time was half an hour, however it did take a little longer as the man behind the counter was serving on his own. It might be wise to allow a bit more time for a larger order. When it comes to pick up make sure you take reinforcements!

Please note- if you are paying with a voucher DON’T place your order and then try to redeem the code afterwards. You need to log into your account information and redeem your coupons first. We made this fatal error and had to retype in our order several times- so learn from our mistake! This loads up your credit and deducts your order at the end- so don’t worry if it still says zero, the credit only kicks in on the final page. Ian on the JUST EAT helpline was very helpful and explained this clearly to me when I called. If you are struggling I suggest you place a call to one of the team. Our issue was solved in minutes.

Although we were not celebrating anyone or anything in particular (who needs a reason really?), this is ideal for large offices, who are perhaps celebrating a company anniversary, or a member of staff’s birthday. It gets a lot of food to your office fast without the hassle of having to order separately. The added benefit of having it on your phone is you can pass it around the other staff members  to order what they want.  Rather this than having to take the order and have one person enter it all, which is where we all know the mistakes can occur.

JUST EAT is a great way to discover new take aways- we can all get into a take-out rut, through habit or taking other people’s advice on different places to eat. This enables you to explore your local surroundings more and be the one to give out the recommendations rather than be the receiver of them.

It is also perfect for singles, single parents or a parent without their other half for the night. Rather than getting young children ready for the outdoors and taking them out for the night, stay in the safety of your home and order in. Some neighbourhoods are not the best places to be in the middle of the night on your own or with children, so it’s a good way to enjoy take-out food without the worry of feeling vulnerable on your walk to the local chippy.

If you are on your way home from work on the bus, or the tube, or just before you pack up your desk you can order for when you get home so that annoying wait for your food is no longer there.

You can also choose your delivery time too so if you want to order at lunch time for your evening meal- you can!

You know how it is- if you are feeling tired after a week of work and don’t fancy small talk because all you have done is interact with other people- this is perfect because there is no customer- staff conversation. Just a quick tap or click and it’s done! A friendly thanks and fond farewell to your delivery driver are the only pleasantries you need to exchange!

The website and app store all of your information too- so all you need to do is type in your email address and password and order- it’s that simple- no having to enter in every last detail every time you feel a pang of hunger.

Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience for adding a bit of spice (quite literally on the chicken!) to our working week and would consider it in future. Normally we bring out the cake to mark an occasion- now we can bring out the buffet!

The name says it all- all you have to do is JUST EAT
