Lauren Omond from TeePee Games brings us her roundup of all things games - new discoveries, gossip and more!
Cooking Mama: Friend’s Café
Many of you will probably be familiar with Cooking Mama as it’s been a massive success on Nintendo DS, Wii and smartphones. Working with the renowned Mama, you will open and run your very own virtual cafés.
Bring out your inner cooking goddess by chopping, mixing, boiling, stirring and pouring a host of ingredients to cook up some delectable dishes for your customers.
Cooking Mama Friend’s Café features the same easy pick up and play experience found in the original games. Don’t panic if you’ve not played it though because Mama shows you exactly how to make each and every dish - which makes it perfect for the casual Facebook gamer.
After every meal cooked players are rewarded with between 1 to 100 experience points and either a gold, silver or bronze medal depending on the speed and accuracy of their cooking. Be warned though, you’ll find yourself returning to the game often as those who neglect their cafés risk seeing their establishments shut down and face the wrath of Mama!
One of the fun parts of the game is customising your own kitchen with a range of new appliances, wallpapers, decorations and floorboards. Mama is on hand to dish out special items when you complete certain goals but some will need to be purchased with either virtual coins or real money.
Master Chef Lauren’s verdict: Delicious! With new recipes, ingredients, mini-games and goals, Cooking Mama is better than ever. With high quality sounds, tasty graphics and incredibly polished gameplay, it’s difficult to fault this game.
Dino Balls
Dino Balls is an incredibly simple but, darn it, addictive bubble shooter style puzzle game. The aim is to eliminate all the bubbles as fast as possible before they reach an egg in the middle of the screen. Players do this by taking control of Dino and must aim and fire a bubble at the long line of bubbles approaching the egg.
When identically coloured bubbles are matched into groups of three or more, those bubbles will burst and be removed from play.
If the line of moving bubbles reaches the egg then the game is lost. As you progress the pace of the game really picks up, which makes some the later levels tricky at times, but power-ups such as explosion, targeting assistance and slow down also become available to help you along the way.
Lauren’s verdict: Simple, addictive and fun! If you want an easy shoot some bubbles games this is definitely it.
There are plenty of levels and a variety of special items and surprises to unlock. Easy-peasy!
