Lauren Omond from TeePee Games brings us her roundup of all things games - new discoveries, gossip and more!

- New Discovery - Jumping Dog (Facebook)

Jumping Dog is a simple yet addictive Facebook game in which the aim to get your dog to jump up high and stay in the sky for as long as possible.

If you’ve ever played Doodle Jump on your smartphone then you’ll be pretty familiar with the concept and know just what to expect.

Gameplay is pretty straightforward and just requires players to navigate their dog to the balloons, springs, bones and other falling items, which will help keep it up in the air.

Performance is judged according to the number of points accumulated as opposed to the height reached, so it actually makes more sense to avoid the springs that send you flying up high and take it slow to try and collect all the objects.

The controls are really easy to pick up, all you have to do is click on the dog to jump and then guide it towards each object with the mouse. The graphics and animations in the game are pretty limited but this gives the game a nice ‘clean’ look and makes it simple to play.

Like a real dog the game craves attention - it often asks you to share your achievements with friends which can be a little irritating but it wasn’t a major issue.

Lauren 'the dog trainer' Omond’s verdict:  The game does have the odd niggle but it is simple, fun and entertaining so they are easy enough to overlook. Good waste of 5 minutes game.

- New Discovery: Mall World (Facebook)

Mall World is a Facebook game all about women’s fashion, dressing up and shopping, so unsurprisingly it’s aimed at a female audience (male avatars are not even available in the game).

In Mall World you’re put into the shoes of a high flying Fashionista and must set-up and run your very own fashion boutique. The main objective is to make as much money as possible so that you can improve your boutique and buy new stock to sell in your shop.

The game doesn’t do anything particularly new or exciting but as the saying goes 'if it ain’t broke don’t fix it'.

Mall World features all the things you’d expect from a game of this kind, including a timed dress up mini-game, customisable avatar and a chance to decorate and improve your fashion boutique.

One of the great things about Mall World is that it features some really well thought out social elements. Instead of just being social in the 'ask friends to play' and 'gifting' sense, Mall World allows players to show off the clothes they’ve bought and share the hot new styles they’ve created with fashion shows, greeting cards and looks books.

Mall World is not your typical social game; it’s an incredible virtual social world with really cool game elements thrown in.

Fashionista Lauren Omond’s Verdict: This is definitely my kind of game. If you want a nice feel-good girlie game to chill out with then Mall World is perfect for you.
