Jack the Ripper will be stalking the virtual streets of London in the new Assassin's Creed Syndicate, it's been revealed, with newly announced downloadable content taking place 20 years after the events of the main game.

The new campaign will see players step into the role of Scotland Yard's Inspector Frederick Abberline, as they do their best to hunt down the infamous serial killer.

An eerie trailer voiced by the person in the role of Jack the Ripper was released earlier today (September 15), with the Ripper saying: "I love my work, and want to start again. Try to stop me."

The content can be purchased individually by players, or those with the Assassin's Creed Syndicate season pass will be able to download it automatically, also unlocking The Last Maharaja mission pack, featuring 10 new missions.

A Streets of London gameplay packs adds new gear, outfits, weapons, missions and more, as do the Victorian Legends pack and the Steampunk Pack.

Season pass holders will also be in receipt of a permanent XP boost.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate launches on October 23 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
