The hotly anticipated first person shooter game will host a livestream event on Wednesday (26.04.17) and in preparation for the big day, developers at Activision have been showing the game to a host of celebrity fans.

Torrey Smith, an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, took to Twitter on Tuesday (25.04.17) to share a snap of himself in front of the title screen on his television, where he praised the game for being "crazy".

He wrote on the micro-blogging site: "Just checked out the new @callofduty ...it's CRAZY!!! (sic)"

The news comes after the game - which was announced last Friday (21.04.17) by Activision - was subject to a series of leaks including a French advertising poster that was put up on the side of a building ahead of schedule and spilled the release date of November 3.

Meanwhile, Reddit user Jadeos, who came across some leaked Australian marketing materials, has revealed a brief outline of gameplay - a single-player campaign that is featured on the invasion of Normandy and includes more "iconic locations" across Europe including Omaha Beach. It describes the experience as creating "the bonds of camaraderie".

The worldwide livestream launch of the game will be held by Sledgehammer Games on Wednesday (26.04.17) at 6pm BST.

Although the spilled release date seems to be November 3 - which would put the game in line with others in the franchise such as 'Infinite Warfare' and 'Black Ops 3' which were also released on the first Friday in November - the date has not yet been confirmed by Activision.
