Those who pre-ordered the hotly-anticipated title for the console can download it from now after Sledgehammer made it available, but PlayStation 4 players will have to wait.

However, once Xbox One players have downloaded the 45.14GB title they won't yet be able to play the game until it is release on November 3.

According to the Daily Star Online, sources believe PlayStation 4 gamers may have to wait until October 31 or November 1 to download the title with Sledgehammer remaining tight-lipped as of yet.

What's more, some eagle-eyed gamers spotted digital download information on the 'Call of Duty: WWII' redemption card which is said to have stated 80GB storage is needed to install the game on the PS4.

A 'Call of Duty' expert from charlieintel.com said: "It's possible this is the total size after patches and additional DLC, or otherwise the day one installation size without any DLC and patches."

This comes after Activision recently confirmed an updated version of the Carentan map will be available to play on the upcoming game.

The video game developer confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: "Carentan is coming to #CODWWII Multiplayer! Read all about it right here. (sic)"

The map - which appeared on classic games 'Call of Duty', 'Call of Duty: United Offensive', and 'Call of Duty 2' - is based on the real-life Battle of Carentan, which took place between June 10 and June 15 1944 in the rural French town.

It saw US forces push German soldiers back, becoming a key part of the Battle of Normandy.

Activision wrote on their blog: "Carentan will be made available at launch as a Bonus Map for all Season Pass holders.

"The Season Pass for Call of Duty: WWII is already bursting at the seams, but the addition of Carentan puts it over the top. (sic)"
