The upcoming first-person shooter game debuted the trailer for its all new 'Zombies' mode during San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday (20.07.17), and developers at Sledgehammer have said the "twisted" new version of the popular mode - which has featured in 'Call of Duty' games since 2008 - is set to be full of "terrifying characters".

Glen Schofield, Studio Head and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games said: "With 'Nazi Zombies', we're creating a frightening world full of terrifying characters and events that will make you jump and look over your shoulder. There's an incredible amount of myth and lore, which our team has poured through in our development. This is unlike anything before, we're taking players to some very dark, grim places in 'Nazi Zombies'. This is one hell of a horror experience."

Whilst Michael Condrey - who is also Studio Head and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games - added: "We couldn't be more excited to showcase our reveal of 'Nazi Zombies' here at San Diego Comic Con. It's been great to return to creating a horror-based experience, and with 'Call of Duty', head back to the 'Nazi Zombies' roots. The team at the studio is proud of the opportunity to deliver something special for the fans."

In the 'Call of Duty' franchise, the Zombies mode - which first originated in 2008's 'Call of Duty: World at War' - sees teams of up to four players battle endless waves of undead creatures, with each kill awarding players points which are used to purchase weapons.

'Call of Duty: WWII's 'Nazi Zombies' mode will feature voice acting from the likes of David Tennant, Elodie Yung, Katheryn Winnick, Udo Kier and Ving Rhames, and will be available with the full game on November 3.
