Obsidian Entertainment developed the 2010 action role-playing video game - which was the fourth instalment in the 'Fallout' franchise - for Bethesda Softworks, and after the 2015 follow-up 'Fallout 4' was created in-house by Bethesda Game Studios, Obsidian have said they would jump at the chance to develop another title in the popular franchise.

'New Vegas' director Josh Sawyer told IGN.com: "I would certainly love to work on a 'Fallout' game again. I know there are tons of people at Obsidian who would love to work on a 'Fallout' game again. If we were given the chance, we would certainly love to."

According to the publication, Josh added that he gets "more questions about 'Fallout' than anything else," and said the question as to whether or not Obsidian will return to the franchise is something "people ask all the time."

It isn't the first time a member of the Obsidian team has talked about making a new 'Fallout' game either, as Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart previously talked about his plans for 'New Vegas 2'.

Speaking in 2013, he said: "I think if we were to do 'Fallout: New Vegas 2' - or just a new 'Fallout' - we would probably separate it from what the internal team at Bethesda's doing. We'd keep it on the West Coast, because we're West Coast people. They're East Coast, so it makes sense.

"And we need an interesting confined area. So I mean, it could be LA. Fallout LA. That could be interesting. It'd probably be The Boneyard, which is from 'Fallout 1'. It could be very different. It could be almost a 'Walking Dead' meets 'Fallout'-like thing because of all the radiation."
