Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group have announced that gamers will soon be able to play along with the characters from the new big-screen animated adventure The LEGO NINJAGO Movie.

The game will be released for the PlayStation4 first, on October 13 for Steam users and on October 20 for Nintendo SwitchTM owners.

Join everyone's favourite NINJAGO heroes - Lloyd, Nya, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane and Master Wu - as you battle to save NINJAGO Island from the evil Lord Garmadon and his Shark Army. Using the brand new and more powerful combat moves, players can take part in adrenaline pumping fighting sequences as well as mastering the art of Ninja-gility, allowing them to run on walls, high-jump and battle the evil beings. There is also a chance to upgrade combat skills to fight off the foes.

One of the new combat moves is the Rushing Boar, which is a dash attack that allows the player to close the gap between characters whilst the Floating Butterfly move is a a jump lunge attack that surprises the enemies by attacking from above. The Swooping Hawk is a "jump slam attack" and the Stinging Bee lets the user perform very fast strikes on their opponent.

The video game has eight large open locations, all based on the story of the movie, as well as some of the iconic locations and characters from the popular LEGO NINJAGO TV series. Each location promises hidden secrets to collect and there is a unique Challenge Dojo that lets players put their combat skills to the test.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie video game will begin rolling out to PlayStation4 users on October 6.
