Electronic Arts may "explore" the possibility of bringing 'Star Wars Battlefront II' to the Nintendo Switch.

David Robillard, Motive Studios' producer, has hinted that the gaming giant could potentially put the title on the console at some stage if they spot some "opportunities", but admitted that is not part of the plan at the current time.

He told GameSpot: "This is something we'll explore if we see opportunities there, but it is not something that's on the books right now."

Earlier this month, EA announced the beta version of 'Star Wars Battlefront II' had been extended for PS4, Xbox One and PC, giving players another 48 hours to try out the game and report back with any errors or suggested improvements.

Blake Jorgensen, EA's CFO, said earlier this year that 'Star Wars Battlefront II' will be "dramatically larger" than the last instalment.

He promised the new title will be much bigger and will have "a lot of new characters" from the newer 'Star Wars' movies, leading to fans speculating they will come from sequels 'The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi', which hits cinemas this December.

Jorgensen said: "The 'Star Wars' universe is just unbelievable to build games in because it's so vast."

'Battlefront II' is to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November.
