The upcoming open world action-adventure game is a sequel to the popular 'Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor', and whilst the game has been confirmed for both the upcoming Xbox Scorpio and Playstation 4 Pro consoles, the developers at Monolith Productions say it's unlikely the game will be available on Nintendo's newest console.

When asked if there were plans for a Switch port, Michael de Plater simply said: "No plans for the Switch at this time."

Michael believes the stress of trying to make a successful sequel for the Xbox and Playstation consoles is enough without adding a Switch port into the mix, as he says if the game fails the production company are "doomed", because it's the only game they're working on.

He said: "Probably some people would disagree, but I think stress for us is generally a really positive thing because our whole studio is devoted to one game. That assumption is like, basically, if we fail, we're doomed. It's all or nothing, which is really exciting and really motivating. That was very clear on 'Shadow of Mordor'; that was the situation. 'This is our first go in this genre. If we don't succeed, no one's gonna give us another chance.' I think we feel exactly the same."

And Michael says the process is "super stressful", but admits the team have to work that way or else they risk losing their funding for their next project.

He told GameSpot.com: "It's super stressful, but there's not a lot of triple-A games or triple-A studios, so I think you have to have that mentality that you're either doing something great or probably no one's going to want to give you the large sums of money it takes to try and do that again."
