The hotly-anticipated title's test version will run from December 9 to December 12 and feature a trio of quests, two of which can be played on the game's Great Forest Map, and the other on Wildspire Waste, according to Eurogamer.

A new trailer for the title has also been unveiled, featuring a new in-game area known as the Rotten Vale, and it has been described as "dangerous and toxic".

Capcom said: "The deeper players journey into the inner layers of the Rotten Vale, the tougher the environment gets with a dangerous and toxic mist blanketing the land obscuring the perils that lurk nearby until the very last minute."

Those keen to get the chance to see what the game is all about and join the beta on December 9 will have to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

The upcoming action role-playing video game is being developed by Capcom and will mark the fifth title in the 'Monster Hunter' franchise.

'Monster Hunter: World' sees gamers take on the role of a hunter who travels around slaying beasts in battles across various terrains.

What's more, players can also go on quests alone or with up to three other hunters in the new online drop-in multiplayer system allowing people to play between Japan and the West for the first-time ever.

With the new online drop-in facility, solo players can ask for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when they are struggling to fight against an opponent.

The concept of the game is for the players to improve their character's skills to become the ultimate hunter.

'Monster Hunter: World' will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on January 26th 2018, and there will be a PC version to follow.
