Development company Ghost Games have revealed changes will be made to the way players are rewarded for beating events in the racing game which was released earlier this month, after players criticised the title's progression system.

In the 'Need For Speed' subreddit, he developers said the REP - which is the in-game system for determining a player's experience level - as well as the game's currency, known as Bank, received after an event will be increased for all events throughout the game.

Ghost Games also revealed that for those who finish an event but don't win it, the payout will also be increased slightly, meaning those who finish in second place will get slightly more REP and Bank for completing the event.

In addition, Roaming Racers - who are NPCs who drive all over the open-world map and can be challenged on the spot -- will also give up more REP and Bank for beating them.

And Ghost Games insist more changes are on the way.

In their subreddit post, they wrote: "Coming shortly will be some changes to the way tune-up shops work, especially around the quality/level of parts they stock. More on that soon."

The changes come after the game was criticised for its progression system, with players saying it took too long to obtain the necessary Part Cards needed to upgrade their vehicles and progress the game.

Many drivers felt the low payouts for winning events forced them to grind through old events they had already beaten in order to either upgrade their car for tougher challenges, or buy a new one altogether.
