Towards the end of this year (2021), it seems that we will be treated to new game releases, add-ons and DLCs, such as the highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’s The Siege of Paris, which is set to release on August 12th, 2021. However, popular multiplayer game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is making its way into the minds of players with their new game mode releasing today (3rd August, 2021).

As well as a growing professional e-sports scene and a community of over 70 million registered players, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege places its players right in the middle of a quick-paced, constantly evolving multiplayer experience, with the selection of unique Operators.

Users must combine clever tactics and offensive manoeuvres in order to engage with their enemies in sieges; both sides will have exclusive skills unique to them, as well as gadgets to aid their mission.

Defenders within the game transform the environments that surround them into strongholds and bases, while attackers may use recon drones to gain information on their opponents, allowing them to plan a destructive assault.

Players have dozens of Operators to pick from (who are inspired by real world counter-intelligence agents), and can decide exactly how they want their game to play out.

From today until August 24th, fans of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be offering new event: Containment.

Ubisoft has announced a brand-new and limited PVP event for the exciting multiplayer game, titled Containment.

The event is inspired by upcoming game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Containment sets players in a reworked version of the Consulate map, overruled by the Chimera Parasite in a new game mode entitled Nest Destruction.

Rainbow Six Siege will be free from August 13th to August 15th; players can earn twice as many bonus Battle Pass points in this time.

The event offers a look into the world of Extraction Rainbow Six Siege, where a team of REACT agents, the attackers, will destroy Nests and face a deadly team of Proteans; an Archaean variant which can mimic behaviour with faster speed and only using melee attacks.

Defenders are granted extra Health, Aruni’s Punch, and Oryx’s special abilities: but will be allowed no weapons. Attackers will have a standard loadout, but with no modifiers and a climited selection of Operators.

Containment offers a new game mode, Nest Destruction, which will force players to fight over a Nest. Attackers will be required to destroy the Nest to find out the second and final objective and win the round; defenders will simply have to rid themselves of the opposing team.

The Containment event comes with its own collection of 33 unique items for Rainbow Six Siege operators, including IQ, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru and Zero on the attacking side, and Aruni, Jager, Kaid, Mira and Warden on the defending team.

The collection includes headgear, uniforms, and weapon skins. Each operator’s exclusive, time-limited customisation items are available for purchase as Bundles in the Shop section for 1680 R6 credits or via the Containment Packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s new game mode is available now until August 24th, 2021.
