'Pokemon GO' fans were surprised to see two updates revealed within a matter of days.

Fans of the mobile game took to their social networking accounts to speculate about what might be included in the latest release after a message on the game's official Twitter revealed two updates in two days.

In a tweet today (16.10.17), the Pokemon Go Twitter wrote: "Trainers, Pokémon GO is being updated to version 0.79.3 for Android and 1.49.3 for iOS to implement bug fixes. (sic)"

News of the latest update comes just two days after the Twitter account revealed the 0.79.2 and 1.49.2 updates would be live soon.

A tweet read: "Trainers, Pokémon GO is being updated to version 0.79.2 for Android and 1.49.2 for iOS to implement bug fixes. (sic)"

One fan wrote: "ANOTHER ONE?! (sic)"

Another posted: "0.79.2 was launched yestaday now 0.79.3 its being updated today totally different update (sic)"

One fan shared: "Give me that GEN 3 news!!! (sic)"

While it is known 'Pokemon GO Gen 3' will be released at some point, some gamers speculated the latest update might include news of a potential 'Gen 4' title.

One wrote: "Gen 4? (sic)"

Another fan simply posted: "gen 4 (sic)"

Earlier this month, The Pokemon Company revealed a special Halloween-themed update is on the way.

They said in a statement: "The Halloween season is a special time in 'Pokémon GO'.

"Plenty of good stuff is coming to the game later this October, and we can't wait to get out and about to see what sort of excitement we can scare up while catching new Pokemon to fill out our Pokedex.

"Stay tuned for more details about Pokemon Go's Halloween event coming soon."
