The upcoming pair of video games - which follow on from the 'Pokemon Sun and Moon' titles released last year - are set to launch for the Nintendo 3DS console on November 17, and in a Nintendo Direct presentation this week, the gaming giants revealed which legendary Pokemon will be the ultimate goal for players to catch.

In every main Pokemon game, the final part of the storyline involves finding and catching a powerful legendary beast, and 'Ultra Sun' and 'Ultra Moon' are no different.

However, the difference with these Pokemon is that instead of being wild Pokemon like in previous games, they follow the idea presented in 'Sun and Moon' about a separate world full of Ultra Beasts, and it is these Ultra Beasts that serve as the legendary Pokemon for the games.

Not much else is known about the Ultra Beasts at the time of writing, and Nintendo are currently only listing them by a code name, as their full names have not yet been released.

UB-Burst is reminiscent of a clown and can only be encountered in 'Ultra Sun', while UB-Assembly resembles a tower and will be exclusive to 'Ultra Moon'.

That's not all, as the legendary Pokemon Necrozma - which was available after defeating the Elite Four in 'Sun and Moon' - will play a larger role in the new games too.

Depending on which version of the game players own, Necrozma will merge with 'Sun and Moon's existing legendary Pokemon - Solgaleo and Lunala respectively - to create a new hybrid Pokemon.

In 'Ultra Sun', it merges with Solgaleo to become Dusk Mane Necrozma, while in 'Ultra Moon' it possesses Lunala to become Dawn Wings Necrozma.
