The team-based third-person shooter video game was released for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, two years after the original 'Splatoon' made its way to the Wii U console.

And now, it has been revealed that Blackbelly Skatepark, one of the five original maps included with the 2015 game, is set to be made available to players of the sequel, as Nintendo have revealed it will come to 'Splatoon 2' on Saturday (28.10.17).

In a tweet posted on Nintendo UK's Twitter account, they said: "The classic stage Blackbelly Skatepark will be added to #Splatoon2 this Saturday! (sic)"

The classic map is the third to be released for the sequel since the game launched in July, following the arrival of Urchin Underpass in August and Kelp Dome last month.

Two further classic maps, Port Mackerel and Moray Towers, were included with the game during its initial release.

Whilst Blackbelly Skatepark is a pre-existing map, a few minor changes have been made to update it for the Nintendo Switch. According to Eurogamer, these changes mostly surround the map's spawn areas, which have been significantly widened.

'Splatoon 2' was one of the first games to be launched for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, with a demo version being made available to players in March before the full game launched a few months later.

The game sees players battle it out in online four-versus-four matches, with the goal being to use paint guns to cover as much of the map as possible in your team's colour.
