Electronic Arts (EA) have announced that the popular game will be re-released in a special edition complete with the four expansion packs - Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star, and Rogue One: Scarif - on November 18.

The rumours of the special edition were fuelled when it was listed on Amazon prior to the official announcement.

It is expected to come out on PS4 and Xbox One although fans are not yet sure if it will be made available on PC.

Meanwhile, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' actor John Boyega previously revealed he is a huge fan of the 'Star Wars Battlefront' franchise.

He tweeted gamemaker EA: "Will fans get a full on offline story mode? It's more of an enjoyable way to learn controls."

In response, EA asked Boyega if he had had a chance to play 'Battlefront's Missions', which is thought to be the closest thing the series has to a story mode.

He said: "yeah thought it was great! But definitely leaves you wanting to engage within a narrative. Can I visit your base in the uk? (sic)"

And EA has previously hinted there could be more 'Star Wars' games to come.

Blake Jorgensen, the developer's Chief Financial Officer, said: "As everyone knows, with 'Star Wars', there is an unlimited amount of things you can do with the content. And as Disney starts to add more and more new content, that gives fuel to our ability to add more games around it."
