The hugely popular indie role-playing game was first released for PC and Mac systems in 2015 and became a hit due to it's innovative style which plays on the users expectations of the RPG genre.

During E3 in June, Sony announced the game would be coming to its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita consoles, and on Tuesday (18.07.17), creator Toby Fox revealed the exact release date would be next month.

'Undertale' will also be cross-buy compatible, meaning users only need to buy the game once in order to play it on both new platforms.

In addition, Toby also announced what would be included for those who purchase the special edition of the game.

The special edition comes with a physical copy of the game on PS4, PC, or Vita, as well as the complete soundtrack on CD, sheet music annotated by Toby Fox, and a gold-plated brass locket.

Users can also purchase a physical or downloadable copy of the standard version of the game, and all physical editions - both collector's and standard - come with a story booklet.

The Collector's Edition will set players back by $64, while the standard physical edition is $25. For the downloadable version - which will be available on the PlayStation Network, players will be charged $15.

'Undertale' is a unique RPG which allows players to carve their own path, with three distinctly different endings available depending on the choices made throughout the game.

A description of the game on its website reads: "In this RPG, you don't have to kill anyone. Each enemy can be "defeated" nonviolently. Dance with a slime. Pet a dog. Whisper your favorite secret to a knight. Or, ignore this choice and rain destruction upon your foes. (sic)"
