Following Tuesday's (28.03.17) reports that the game is coming to the new Nintendo Switch console, the distributor of the LEGO video games clarified that the full game is contained on the cartridge - meaning there will be no additional download required.

And they also dismissed rumours the Warner Bros title requires a 13GB installation - half of the usable 26GB of spare storage space available on the console - insisting that is not the case.

A statement issued by Warner Bros. to MVCUK.com reads: "Players who purchase LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail do not need to download the game to play.

"The information is listed incorrectly on the packaging of LEGO City Undercover for Nintendo Switch. Players who purchase a physical copy of LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail are getting the complete game, and do not need to download additional content to enjoy the full experience. An internet connection is not required to play the game. The only internet connection suggested is to download the typical content update patch."

The only additional download needed is the usual release patch and Internet is not needed in order to enable gameplay.

The news comes as reassurance to Nintendo fans who were concerned about the release.

'LEGO City Undercover' is released on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One on April 7, available for pre-order now.
