Adults are unaware that there are 134 calories in a glass of wine
Most adults may know the calories that they are consuming when food passes their mouth, but research has indicated that they are not too sure when it comes to the drinks they are guzzling.
More and more people have started to think about the food they are eating and the effects it is having on their waistline and health, but they are taking little consideration of the effects that alcohol can have on these factors.
Research indicates that two out of three people questioned were unaware of the calories that they were drinking, including such facts like that there are 134 calories in just one glass of wine, but they do however know that there are 337 calories in a burger.
The survey conducted by the charity Drinkaware questioned 2,000 adults.
The results indicated that one in three would be monitoring their calorie intake over the next month, but only one in ten were thinking about the alcohol which they would drink.
Also, money wasn’t a factor for those questioned, about whether or not they would buy alcohol with three quarters of them admitting that they would sooner cut back by staying in, buying less clothes and not going on holiday.
The charity plans to begin a new scheme called, Mydrinkaware. which users can use on the site and convert the drinks they have into calories and cost. This will hopefully deter them from
