I think I speak for many women when I say the tummy area can be a huge bugbear whether you've had children or not. For years, I have worn tops that cascade over this area because I wanted to hide it. After losing over three stone, I was worried that my tummy would not only be fat but also saggy- not a great combination when I want to feel more confident about my midriff.

I have been thinking about going back to the gym but with memberships being so costly, I wanted something that would target the area I dislike about my body the most that wouldn't cost the earth.

So that's why I decided to give the Body Sculpture Tummy Action Rower a go. At £12.99, it's a bargain compared to the price of other at home exercise equipment and it even comes with an instruction leaflet and a DVD to guide you through the moves.

The exercises on the video off four alternative uses to those on the leaflet, so you have eight different exercises in total if you use both.

The DVD also demonstrates other equipment in the range too so if you like the tummy rower you can get a feeling for any of the following Body Sculpture equipment too:

Deluxe Power Bender

Electronic Chest Pull

3 in 1 Multi-Trainer

9' Cable Pull Rope

Push Up Bars

Ab Wheel Plus

Spin Ball

Adjustable Balance Board Acupuncture Figure Twister

The Tummy Action Rower promises to target the abdominal muscle, the arm muscle, the gluteus maximus muscle and the thigh muscle.

The thing I like most about this piece of equipment is how compact it s. If you enjoy using this piece of kit, you can easily fold it up and put it in your suitcase if you don't want to miss out on your toning exercises when you're away on business or on holiday. Once you get to know the exercises, there's no need for the DVD or the leaflet so you can do your daily routine to some music, movie or even a boxset. As I'm a bit of a boxset addict, I could easily watch what I wanted while doing my exercises so it didn't feel like too much of a chore. It's great when you can combine exercise with something you really enjoy doing.

With each new exercise, you can really feel it working each part of the body it promises too. I found exercise one to be the most resistant which tones up your arms. I found a better result when I held my position between pulls for the seated and lying positions. With the addition of the Tummy Action Rower, it makes sit ups more interesting too.

The Tummy Action Rower is simple, small and easy to use. After 2 months, I have noticed very little difference to the shape of my tummy; however, I do feel that my tummy is firmer than it used to be so I will persevere as I have already seen some results and it takes very little time out of my day to complete.

The Body Sculpture Action Rower is available from Superdrug.
