It's no secret I hate my feet! But like them or loathe them you need to show them some love over the festive season! Your poor pinkies have been hidden in socks and tights for the past 3-4 months. If you want to unveil them for Christmas you better take action!

Do you get sore feet over Christmas?

Do you get sore feet over Christmas?

1. Maintenance. Pop in to your local pharmacy to arm yourself with the kit to help whip your feet into shape. Whether it's removing dead skin or tending to cracks and dry patches you will find all you need to prepare your feet for the party season.

2. Look after your nails by investing in nail clippers to help cut them safely. You can buy products to strengthen the nail and protect it before you pile on the polish.

3. Look out for athlete's foot, fungal nail infections, corns and calluses. All of the above can prevent you from putting your best foot forward, so see your pharmacist for help and advice.

4. Invest in heel pads (i.e. party feet) and blister plasters so you can stay on and can dance the night away. Putting an insole into an uncomfortable shoe can give you extra support!

5. Only wear shoes that fit (many of us squeeze ourselves in to shoes!) and opt for a wedge or a heel if you aren't keen on heights! Buy shoes at the end of the day when your feet are at their biggest size and never trade comfort for fashion. As the night goes on ditch the heels for flats so you can dance the night away. When the clock strikes 12 and it's time to go home ice your aching swollen feet with some peas wrapped in a towel!
