Next week's Chelsea Flower Show will no doubt inspire people to consider sprucing up their gardens inevitably leading to a bank holiday traipsing around garden centres to get the latest quirky garden gadgets.
Despite the garden being many home owners favourite 'room' security doesn't come high on their agenda. As they return from buying the latest teak garden furniture or gas heaters we are urging home owners to check their home insurance to see what is covered within their policy and to keep their insurer updated to ensure they have adequate cover.

Where possible, keep statutes and large pots near the house, bolted to the ground or weighed down with heavy objects
Keep a record of valuable garden items by keeping the receipt and taking a photograph of the item

Install an automatic outside security light to alert you to people approaching
