July is another month for gardeners to sit back and enjoy the Summer in their outside space.

Again, this month, your main priority should be keeping your plants hydrated in the hot summer sun If you're growing fruit, Most plants will be ready to harvest this month. Look out for Mildew and Slugs on soft friuts, though and apply a spray to treat if you fell its necessary.

  • Summer fruits can still be planted at this time, train in late blackberry, raspberry and strawberry plants for fruits to be harvested next month.
  • when fruit plants have been harvested and begun to fade, remove the debris (leaves, stalks, straw) to the compost bin.
  • Keep on top of Deadheading those flowers.
  • Now is the time to plant out Biennials and swap cuttings of Hydrangeas, Polyanthus, Arabis, etc with Keen gardening friends or simply Keep them for yourself to double your plants for next year.

  • Dont forget about your lawn this month, either. If you've got Kids, chances are the lawn is taking an allmighty battering this month. Mow at summer height, and rake regularly to areate and refresh the lawn
  • Whilst the weather's warm and dry and the days are long, July might be a good time to carry out those landscaping jobs you've been trying to do for ages. Just make sure you keep everyone Hydrated and dont forget the suncsreen.
