What with the new series of Downton Abbey starting in just over a week, and the much-anticipated release of The Great Gatsby next summer, the 'Roaring Twenties' are back in fashion. QVC has put together a collection of 20s-inspired homeware pieces, that even Countess Violet Crawley would be proud to have around!

The Roaring Twenties were also known as the "années folles" in French, literally, the 'crazy years'. This was down to the recent end of World War I, and everyone wasn't sure how long the peace time would last. Everyone turned to alcohol, debauchery and hedonism, and a big part of this was the jazz music which became popular. Party like it's 1922 with this retro Steepletone Chichester Music Centre, in either a dark or light brown. Fortunately, you don't have to deal with technology from the time as well, as the music centre is equipped with a CD turntable, cassette player and radio.

Art Deco was also an important part of the twenties. A design and art style that began in Paris, it was characterised by the use of metals and bright colours. Both of these lamps (left and top inset) represent the class and flamboyance of the art deco movement beautifully - you can just imagine Daisy and Gatsby sharing a mint julep next to this Peacock Accent Lamp.
All of these items are available from QVCuk.com. Tiffany Style Handcrafted Waltz Novelty Lamp is £52.50, Steepletone Chichester Music Centre with Record CD, Cassette Player & Radio is £81.50, and Tiffany Style Handcrafted Peacock Accent Lamp is £93.00.
