Matt Dillon became a teenage heart throb in the 80s but 20 years later he's matured into a dreamy older man. His stunning dark eyes, quirky grin and his sexy New York accent win him the title of Hottie of the Day. In 1979, casting director Vic Ramos spotted Dillon while he was cheekily cutting class and cast him in Over the Edge. The film was a big regional hit and Matt was on his way to stardom- not exactly a good advert for going to school. Matt soon became a hot property and his bad boy image is what made him the object of every teenage girls' affections. First he starred as a fatherless country boy in Tex (1982), then he headlined a cast of young actors, including Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze, in the moving The Outsiders (1983), and finally he was back in trouble once more in the superb Rumble Fish (1983). In 1987 Matt appeared in the music video for everyone's Christmas favourite Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl. Matt remained busy as his looks matured and he won much praise for his roles in sexy thriller Wild Things (1998) and as a sleazy private eye lovestruck by Cameron Diaz in the box-office smash There's Something About Mary (1998). He also showed his funny side in the black comedy One Night at McCool's (2001), made his feature film directorial debut with City of Ghosts (2002), had a day that goes from bad to worse in Employee of the Month (2004).

In 2004 Matt finally received a long-overdue Oscar nomination, as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in highly acclaimed Crash.

Outside of work Matt dated co-star Cameron Diaz for several years but is currently single. In his spare time he likes to run around Central Park in New York- so what are you waiting for? Get your trainers on girls!
