Network is delighted to announce the release of timeless classic THE WORKER – THE COMPLETE SERIES (PG). All 35 episodes will be available in a five-disc set on 28th May 2007. Alongside the main broadcast series, this set includes the ten 15 minute shows that formed part of Bruce Forsyth’s Big Night in 1978. THE WORKER – THE COMPLETE SERIES (PG) lasted for five series, over a period of thirteen years. Charlie Drake (Slapstick and Old Lace, The Charlie Drake Show) starred as the hapless Charlie, a labourer incapable of labouring. Persistently unemployable Charlie does not endear himself to Labour Exchange clerk Mr Pugh (Henry McGee – The Benny Hill Show) as he constantly attempts to settle Charlie in work. Each episode produces a guaranteed excuse for Drake’s much-loved slapstick antics, the legacy left by a comedian whose talent spawned a career lasting over five decades.Charlie Drake and writer Lew Schwarz co-wrote THE WORKER – THE COMPLETE SERIES (PG), creating a comic gem of a show that remains as outstanding today as it was on its first broadcast in 1965. This piece of British television history offers another chance to see iconic comedian Charlie Drake at his very best. The Worker- The Complete Series
