Strictly's John Sergeant An Unlikely Sex Symbol?

John Sergeant has become an unlikely sex symbol thanks to his charm and grace on Strictly Come Dancing.

At the ripe old age of 64, John, who is partnered with blonde bombshell Kristina Rihanoff has had women swooning up and down the country with his twinkle toes.

Crazy, we hear you say when you see John, and his cute little pie face sharing the dance floor with the likes of muscley Mark Foster, or the gorgeous Austin Healey, but as unlikely as it may seem, Sergeant has a certain charm.

In fact, even former Strictly contestant Esther Rantzen has spoke of her lust (well, fascination) of John and his dancing.

She gushes: "The one adjective on every woman’s lips after we saw John tango was ‘adorable’. Ugly men do remarkably well with ladies. Kristina is lucky to have him."

The former political correspondent has been left stunned by the amount of female attention he is receiving, and credits his dancing partner, Kristina for injecting some sex appeal and sizzle into their dances.

He says: "I think men like watching us dance because they make me disappear in their imaginations and see they are dancing with Kristina.

"And I think some women make Kristina disappear and imagine they are dancing with me. They look at me and think, ‘That’s a man who can dance’, and they wish their husbands could dance.

When series six began, it was almost certain that John would make an early exit, especially as he was ranked as an outsider from the start. But his twinkle toes and fun attitude have won the viewers and judges round. Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Arlene Phillips all heaped praise on John for his "warm" and "understated" performances.
