We're in the middle of Awards season and the competition for best dressed is only going to get more fierce, especially with the Oscars still to go.
But it's not only the dress that the stars need to be worrying about, they also have to consider their accessories, hair and beauty.
Imagine all of the flashing lights and you're sporting a huge spot on your face - that's not going to go down with the critics and all of the eyes watching.
Mark Woolley, celebrity stylist to Sienna Miller and Palona Faith, shares his three commandments for red carpet hair:
(Yes, we can look like a star too)
1. Great hair starts with good foundations so it is vital to focus on preparation. For hair that looks and feels luxurious from the inside out, you need a miracle product that de-frizzes effectively yet doesn’t leave behind any residue. Electric Smoothing Cream (£17, electric-hair.com) combats unruly locks yet disappears into the hair when styling so you are left with lightweight, ultra-smooth, shiny and bouncy results.
2. Never underestimate the power of a good hair tool. Whether you want luxuriously smooth hair or bountiful curls, the Denman Head Hugger Brush (various sizes, electric-hair.com) is the do-it-all brush. Hold the hair taut so it sits along the ceramic-coated barrel of the brush and glide it through as you blow dry for kink-free hair or wrap small sections of hair around the barrel as you blow dry for gorgeous, natural-looking waves.
3. Don’t be out-shone on the red carpet. Applying some L’Oreal Professionnel Crystal Gloss (£9.10, electric-hair.com) onto any finished hair style will add a gorgeous veil of long-lasting shine. The compact size means you can touch up with an extra blast whenever the occasion arises.
Tina Richards, skincare and anti-ageing experts shares her top tips to make sure that your skin is glowing and healthy, just like a celebrities:
Using a good mineral based sunscreen containing micronised zinc oxide as a primer under make-up. Suntegrity All Natural Moisturising Face Protection SPF30 is the best light reflector under make-up, including around the eyes, a great primer and makes you look younger. It works better than most light reflective primers and BB creams at giving you a line-free youthful look.
Increase your daily intake of essential fatty acids to fortify your skin's barrier to hold moisture within for plumper softer, smoother and less sensitive skin. Eat unsalted nuts, avocados and add ground seeds to your porridge. A Krups coffee and spice grinder can be used every morning to grind a mix of flax, sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds. These foods are also rich in vitamins and minerals and fabulous for your skin.
