Jessica Simpson Sued by Clothing Company

20-04-2006 21:08

Jessica Simpson is being sued by Tarrant Apparel Group because she is not promoting their product as agreed.

The singer and actress signed a licensing deal with the clothing company in 2004 to launch a range of jeans and clothing.

Under the terms of the contract, Simpson is supposed to wear items from the range at ‘public events, shows and appearances’ or whenever ‘reasonably practicable.”

According to the Smoking Gun website, the company filed a complaint at the New York Supreme Court recently.

It is believed they are suing the star for $100 million because ‘of unwillingness to back the line crippled its marketing plan and caused it to lose valuable contracts with retailers.’
