Which updo will you be trying this summer?

The up do is well and truly back for Spring Summer 2012.

Whether it's the ballerina bun, a glamorous chignon, or a boho-esque plait, wearing hair up is the look of the moment.

Trevor Sorbie, the iconic British hair-care brand, has seen a huge increase in sales of hair accessories, highlighting that women are experimentingmore with their hair style creations at home.

The updo trends extends to the salon as the Trevor Sorbie team have also noticed an increase in the requests for updo styles.

"This year in particular, we have seen an increase in the number of women requestion creative 'hair up' styles. The braid is a favourite for women who want a glamorous look with a modern twist.

"They are particular good for the festival season as they enable a very different style without having to wash your hair," explains Daniel Caceres, Director & Special Events Director, Trevor Sorbie Covent Garden.

For a twisted braid a la Scarlett Johansson, follow these step-by-step directions from Bree Daviers, Director, Trevor Sorbie Hampstead.

First you will need to prep you hair; spritz Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Curls Beach Hair through the hair when dry to creat texture.

Now, to create your plait, begin at the nape of the neck.

When plaiting the hair ensure that each section that is added to the plait is pulled underneath.

Work your way around the heaf until your reach the start and secure it with Trevor Sorbie Bobby Pins.

To 'fatten' the plait, you could also rub sections with your thumb and fingers, pinching it to give it more texture and a more 'unstructured' finish.

Set the style with Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Hairspray.
