One in Ten Women Spends over £1000 a Year on Shoes

A new survey has revealed that one in ten women spend more than £1000 a year on shoes.

One in four woman also admitted to buying shoes rather than paying their bills, with 50 % saying they owed more than 30 pairs of shoes.

Harper’s Bazaar magazine questioned 1000 woman and 1000 men for the survey. 39% of men surveyed thought that women spent too much on shoes, with 82% agreeing that stilettos were the sexiest footwear.

Magazine editor Lucy Yeomans said that the poll reflected women’s love of shoes and the feel good factor they can have.

She said;” British women love shoes because shoe shopping is literally good for the soul. It doesn’t matter how fat or miserable a woman is feeling, when she goes shoe shopping everything fits.

Shoes have an incredible Cinderella effect – they can transform not only an outfit, but also a women’s mood.”
