Tulisa Contostavlos brown 'do is much favoured to her blonde style

Tulisa's hair colour came under fire when she went blonde during the summer, but according to new research she once again has the X Factor

She may ne known for helping wannabe pop stars become self-assured and confident, but the survey found that the singer might be able to boost her own self esteem by sticking to her roots.

Released by nice’n easy it revealed that nearly three quarters of women believe she exudes much more confidence as a brunette, compared to when she sports lighter locks.

A colour chameleon in her own right, after sporting blonde hair in her early career, Tulisa then reinvented her style, becoming famous for her more natural healthy-looking brunette tone until July this year when she took the plunge and once again became a blonde bombshell.

Jonathan Long, colour advisor for nice’n easy comments: “The first thing a lot of people notice when women go from brunette to blonde is their eye colour. The warmth of an intense brunette shade gives blue eyes like Tulisa’s a depth and intensity that really makes them pop. Tulisa is one of the lucky few who can pull off being both a blonde and a brunette, but I can see why 73% of women surveyed think she looks more confident darker as it really suits her overall look and skin tone.”

This new research of over 2,000 women revealed that the UK agrees with her move back to her brunette colour with an incredible eight out of ten citing a preference for Tulisa with her natural dark brown hair. Not only does the nation favour her this way, but 70% also agree that she looks sexier as a natural brunette beauty.

Jonathon shares his tips for when choosing a new hair colour simply:

Look at your skin tone, eye colour and consider your hair's current base colour

    - If you have fair or rosy skin with green or blue eyes you're cool-toned, so go for ashy shades and avoid warm or golden colours

    - If you have golden, peachy or olive skin with brown or hazel eyes, you're warm-toned, so go for golden, caramel shades and avoid ashy shades

I would always recommend staying within 1 to 3 shades of your natural colour so it doesn’t wash you out.  Effortlessly beautiful, natural looking hair is key

It's not necessary for brows and hair to be the same colour. If you stick to the rule of staying within 1 to 3 shades of your natural colour then there is no reason to dye your eyebrows.
