Flawless make-up is easy with these tips

Flawless make-up is easy with these tips

Celebrities leave us in awe of their beauty when they step out on the red carpet and make appearances on TV, of course they’ve had make-up artists work their magic but we want in on some of those secrets ourselves.

René Metcalfe is currently the Make-up Designer for Dancing on Ice and it’s safe to say she’s making the girls look beautiful this season.

Creating super flawless and natural finishes the make-up artist has some pretty amazing tools to hand.

Here she shares her tricks of the trade:

Perfect Primer

“A good skin primer will hold your make-up in place all day. I love StageLine Professional Silk Veil, £28.60, it instantly smoothes and reduces the appearance of open pores, providing an even base to apply make-up onto all our Dancing on Ice beauties!”

This product not only creates a flawless base, but also helps our make-up stay in place a lot longer too. We haven’t had to touch our make-up throughout the day since using this stuff. Amazing.

Ace of Base

“Dancing on Ice is a live show so we need to ensure that the make-up is flawless. There is no time for re-takes and it is filmed in HD so everything must be picture perfect. I use Mistair’s Airbrush Make-up Foundation, £32.00, it gives a great coverage with a flawless and even finish.”

We buff this in using the Real Techniques Face brush, it’s great to build up coverage without that cakey look you can sometimes get with foundations.

Luscious Lips

“On Dancing Ice show stopping lips are a must, I use Stage Professional Lipstick, £16.20, to give our Dancing on Ice stars the perfect pout.”

Another product that doesn’t budge, what’s even better about this stuff is that it doesn’t dry out our lips either. So you’re left with a luscious pout that isn’t flakey.

Dramatic Eyes

“I define the eyes using StageLine Professional Precise Liner, £13.30, Max Effect Mascara, £22.80 and Light Eye Shadow, £13.30, simply roll on and blend for intense and iridescent colour.”

Glitz & Glamour

“For highlighting and contouring I use Mistair Airbrush Make-Up Blusher, £32.00 to define the cheek bones and Mistair Airbrush Make-Up Highlight & Shimmer £32.00 to add some sheer Dancing on Ice sparkle and shimmer.”
