Christy Turlington

Christy Turlington is embracing the ageing process and we suppose it's easier to do when you look like her.

The 45-year-old supermodel has become beauty supplement Imedeen's global ambassador and explains she has absolutely no qualms about getting older in a new behind-the-scenes video for the brand.

She admits: "There are no negatives about getting old. The older I get, the more comfortable in my skin I am, it's much more me."

Christy, best known for being the face of Calvin Klein from 1987 to 2007, started out as a model in her teens and her career is still going strong today, with campaigns for the likes of Maybelline and Versace under her belt.

Taking care of her skin from the inside out and repairing the damage done in her earlier years has become a priority for her as she's got older.

The striking brunette says: "When I was younger as a model, I was working every day. More make-up, lights, and travel so my skin has probably suffered a bit from too much of everything.

"As I got older, I had time to start taking care of myself and my health and my skin really started to come into its own.

"I like the philosophy that less is more. Caring for my skin from the inside out is what I'm most interested in. What I put into my body is really important."

These days, Christy is also an active humanitarian, founding non-profit organisation Every Mother Counts (EMC) in 2010, which aims to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world.
