We recreate this beauty look of Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale managed to get us all excited for winter with this beauty look, the slightly gothic vibe is on-trend and perfect for this time of year.

If you’re not dressing up for Halloween then this is a make-up look you could easily wear to get the vibe going, even the actress wore it to get into the spirit of things when she was pictured on the red carpet for the premiere of the Halloween special of Pretty Little Liars.

So to help you recreate the beauty look we’ve got some tips and products to help you along the way.

Starting with the base, apply a primer to ensure that your look stays in place all day and all night, we’ve particularly been loving the brand new offering from Seventeen. The Flawless Poreless Primer is unlike anything we’ve ever used before as it comes in a pressed form, just use your fingers to warm the product up and sweep over the areas you’re going to need it, like forehead, chin and down the middle of your face. It’s really easy to use and you’ll only use it where you need it.

Then, onto the foundation; you’ll want a semi-matte finish so everything is not as glossy, you’ll only want to highlight the cheeks with this look. The MAC Studio Sculpt has been a favourite of ours for years; it has very good coverage too, so if you’re heading out at night it’s ideal for this sort of look. We prefer to use a brush to apply this foundation.

Onto the eyes, just add a little definition to the eyes by rimming with kohl and blend the colour in with a soft brown. If you have an eye palette – we’re currently lusting after the new Clarins offering – use a few of the shades from there to blend in the colour, but it’s a very subtle wash to give the eye a slight definition. Lucy has gone for quite strong brows with this look, so you’ll need to fill them in, whether you use eye shadow, a brow palette or a pencil; the look is strong and bold. Finish it with lashings of mascara, a lengthening one would be a good option if you like them long and fluttery like Lucy. The Maybelline Falsies mascara will give some volume and plenty of length.

Now, onto the cheeks. Lucy has quite a warm tone to her face, so if you want to replicate that you’re going to have to use a sweep of bronzer. The Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder is a good option, it’s a matte powder, and you want to steer clear of any shimmer. Whilst the Pretty Little Liars actress avoided a dewy face all-over there is definitely some highlighter on those lovely cheeks of hers. Try a liquid one, again we’re loving the new offering from Seventeen. Their 3 Way Highlighter is easy to use, apply it directly to the cheeks for this look with your fingers and blend in, use it on top of your cheekbones, where they catch the most light. But, if you want an all over dewy look you could mix this in with your foundation. Finally with the cheeks, use a cream blush to accentuate the softness of the cheeks, use your fingers to warm up, dot on the cheeks and blend in with a brush. You’ll only need the smallest amount because the lips are where it’s at with this beauty look.

Finally, the standout part of this Lucy Hale beauty look, the lips. The lip colour is just gorgeous and whilst we don’t know exactly what it is, we think we’ve found the perfect dupe for it, the Rimmel Kate Lipstick in shade 107. Use a lip liner to ensure the colour doesn’t bleed and build up the lip colour with your fingers or a lip brush.
