Michelle Dockery looked beautiful in her Oscar de la Renta gown

Michelle Dockery was radiant on the Golden Globes red carpet in her Oscar de la Renta gown, offset of course by simple makeup with a pop of pink via her pout and soft, voluminous hairstyle.

We caught up with Sascha Breuer, Braun’s Global Style Director, who created the look for Michelle. He said:

"Michelle’s been teasing Hollywood reporters all weekend leading up to the Globes, hinting at her choice of dress.  I was one of the lucky few who got a sneak peek, and after seeing her gorgeous embroidered cream-colored Oscar de la Renta gown, I chose to keep it modern with a looser, more playful, slightly dishevelled take on the often-rigidly Edwardian styles she wears in her role as Lady Mary.

"And while Lady Mary may have been coming slightly unravelled, I’m thrilled to have been behind the scenes helping Michelle herself look just as great as ever."

You can easily recreate this look at home. Just follow these steps:

1.     After towel-drying your hair, apply some volumising  spray to the roots and blow-dry using a round brush to create the perfect foundation and loose volume that this style needs. Why not try the new Braun Satin-Hair 7 Dryer which promises 100% damage-free drying and will restore the shine and healthy look of your hair.

2.     Once your hair is completely dry, divide it into smaller sub sections (roughly 1 inch thick) and curl each section individually, starting from the back. I would recommend using a 1 or 1 1/2-inch curling iron that lets you adjust the temperature to the needs of your hair and work on a low to medium heat setting. I always recommend the new Braun SensoCare Styler, which automatically adjusts its temperature depending on the moisture levels of your hair!

3.     Work your way through your style in horizontal sections until all the hair is curled.

4.     Apply a small drop of a hair oil or shine serum into your hands and run your fingers gently through your hair to break up the curls, leaving a few loose strands around the face to create a slightly messy texture so it has a “lived in,” unforced  feeling.

5.     Once you are happy with your shape & texture, mist with a flexible hairspray to ensure that your style will last all night long! Silvikrin’s Flexible Hold Hairspray is great as it will hold your hair in place whilst leaving it natural looking and full of life!
