It's hard to believe that Miranda Kerr only takes 15 minutes to get looking this flawless

Miranda Kerr may be in the centre of a very complicated love twist, what with Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom rumoured to be literally throwing punches over her, but that’s not the only thing getting people talking about her.

The former Victoria’s Secret model claimed it only takes her 15 minutes to get ready in the morning, but over half of British women don’t believe her, according to new research.

Most women said they would have to take nearly three times that (41 minutes) in order to look presentable, and 67% said they would not be happy leaving the house with only 15 minutes preparation – and nearly a quarter of women said it would take them that long to have a shower on its own.

Online beauty retailer Escentual.com asked 1,000 women how long they took to get ready in the mornings following the publication of Miranda Kerr’s beauty blog last week in which she stated: “'I usually have very little time in the mornings, especially with a toddler, so with these simple skin and beauty steps I can get out the door in 15 minutes.”

The Escentual.com survey found that whilst 46% of women admitted it's likely that supermodels do need less time to get ready for the day than regular women, but the vast majority couldn't believe that Miranda could fit all her beauty routine into just 15 minutes.

In her blog last week Miranda said her usual routine involves preparing a glass of luke warm water with lemon, brushing her body with a soft dry brush, showering and cleansing her face and body (not washing her hair), applying tinted foundation, defining her eyebrows and lashes, then applying two or three coats of mascara, then lip balm or sometimes lipstick, brushing her hair and which she then puts into a top-knot style, preparing a healthy green juice drink and then she’s and out of the door. Most women couldn’t believe this could be done in 15 minutes and said that would take them 40 minutes at least.

Escentual.com Beauty Editor Emma Leslie said: "We found that most women would like to have around ¾ hour to get ready for the day so that they felt confident to face the world. Most said they would not look their best with only 15 minutes to wash and apply make-up, and would only do so reluctantly if they were in a big rush to get to work on time.

”But it’s fair to say that supermodels like Miranda Kerr may not need quite as much time to look beautiful.”

Of those surveyed a third of women said that if they were in a terrible rush they would finish off their make-up whilst commuting to work on the bus, train or in their car.
