I was delighted when I found out that coconut oil had so many uses- especially as a moisturiser and make up remover. I was getting increasingly concerned about the amount of ingredients that were in my previous beauty products. It was a relief to find something to slap on my face that had only one ingredient and did the same job- if not better.

Vita Coco

Vita Coco

I simply apply Vita Coco Coconut Oil to my face with a cotton pad every night and rub off my makeup. I find this more satisfying as I can see on the pad if I have got every last speck of makeup off. I know some people like to use it instead of a face wash but I prefer to use it more like a cleanser as it moisturises at the same time.

I am not going to lie, coconut oil is wet at first- it is an oil after all, however if you rub it in well and give it a few moments, it eventually soaks into the skin to leave you glowing.

My mum and grandma tell me that my skin has never looked better since using it and I must admit- my skin feels a lot less clogged when I use it. Previous products have left my skin feeling blocked, but this feels like my skin still has a chance to breathe.

I have always had really rough elbows and after the first application, they had never been as soft. Coconut oil is not just for the face but for the whole body too.

It may not look as pretty on your dresser as your previous products and it's a hefty tub; however it replaces two or three items, so it all works out in the end.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to detox in the new year- give your skin a chance to breathe for once and stop pushing things you have no idea about into your face.

I hear people moaning about the price but the jars are so large- they will last you longer so it's money well spent.

Coconut oil is my beauty staple now so if you haven't invested in a tub yet- now is the time!
