Emma Watson was our best dressed last night

Emma Watson, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz and Freida Pinto descended on London last night for the fashion and movie awards event of the season; The BAFTAS.

It's billed as the British Oscars and last night the stars did not disappoint us with their fabulous and stylish fashion, which just goes to show that anything America can do, we can do better.

Emma Watson wowed in a Temperley frock, which showed maturity beyond her years, but managed to keep her style youthful with minimal make-up and a simple up-do.

We especially liked the fact she showed her face freckles off, as sometimes Emma can come across as too old with her fashion choices.

Penelope Cruz's stylish and chic Azzedine Alaia gown was one of the most beautiful creations to grace the red carpet last night, despite the rain almost threatening to ruin it.

Her elegant up-do complete with eyebrow skimming fringe, and flower diamond earrings were the finishing touches to an already stunning look. We've not always been a fan of Penelope and her fashion, but last night she was bang on the mark.

Kate Winslet was awarded the accolade of Best Actress last night, and once again wowed the style critics with her slender and structured Zac Posen dress.

Our only criticism of 'our' Kate is that she's at risk of falling into a fashion rut, with all of her awards dresses so far being of a similar shape, colour and style. Let's hope she pulls something truly magnificent out of the bag for the Oscars...

Freida Pinto was a picture of innocence in her sugary sweet Oscar De La Renta gown, complete with Tiffanys jewels and Jimmy Choos.

She's fast becoming a rising style icon, having topped our best dressed lists for the past few weeks- could she be making it on there for a third time this week?

We think she may well do it and it's thoroughly deserved too, as the Slumdog Millionaire star has come out of nowhere to show the older ladies just how it is done.

Amy Adams deserves a mention for her stunning blue dress, although it did have a uncanny resemblance to the one worn by Kate Winslet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards a few weeks ago.

Taking style tips from a winner is all very well Amy, but when she's actually at the same event with you, it can be a little embarrassing!
