Barack Obama's Fashion Impact

Barack Obama has certainly taken the political world by storm, becoming the US's first ever black President, but who would have thought he would take the fashion world by storm too.

Obama Rama has been rolling through Hollywood with most stars showing their support for the Democrat through their outfits and he has even inspired designers.

Katy Perry used one of her MTV European Music Awards outfits to show her love of Obama. The host wore a yellow sequined dress decorated with his face. We're not to sure about the yellow, fingerless, 'YES' glove though.

The dress was designed by Jean Charles de Castelbajac, an old friend of Andy Warhol's, and was the centrepiece at his runway show at Paris Fashion Week. He told The Telegraph: "I made it because for me, Barack Obama is the most charismatic leader in politics today."

"He is incarnate of hope, changes and youth. The ovation the dress received amazed me - as did the amount of insulting letters I have received from the United States. But I'm pleased to see that fashion has become such a powerful medium."

He was not the only designer to take inspiration from Obama, Sonia Rykiel also paid homage to the man in her Paris show with a series of preppy outfits.

Sarah Jessica Parker showed her support with a smattering of Obama badges on the lapel of a blue cardigan, giving her outfit a real edge. Supermodel Heidi Klum and husband Seal, also wore Obama badges throughout the election campaign and Seal took the look one step further, stepping out with a Barack Obama mask on.

Sharon Stone and P Diddy have both been pictured wearing T-shirts emblazoned with Obama's face, Sharon's black white and red top had a real rock band T-shirt feel, making it stylish as well as political.

The future President also appeared on accessories from watches and earrings to trainers and bags. Madonna's daughter, 11 year old Lourdes showed she is a style icon in the making when she showcased her Obama bag in New York.

One star who paid real attention to detail with her Obama fashion is Eve. the singer showed off her Obama manicure with pictures of the mans face on her nails, very bling!

Obama's fashion sense has also come under the spotlight. Borac, Bosnia's oldest clothing factory, which works with some top-line names, such as Hugo Boss, has been so impressed by his permanently polished look that they have named a range of suits after him.

Ahmet Curic, a member of the Borac management team said: "It's a line of top quality business suits, and naming it Obama was an obvious choice because the president-elect is clearly a very elegant man and one of a few who knows how to wear a suit."

If Barack Obama is having this much impact on the fashion world we can't wait to see what happens when he takes over the role of President in January.
