Dolly Parton's Bleach History

Dolly Parton started bleaching her hair as soon as she could afford to.

The '9 to 5' singer - famed for her bright blonde locks and huge breasts - hates her natural colour so decided to change it, even though it got her into trouble.

She said: "I started bleaching my hair as soon as I could get money to buy bleach. Before that it was that dishwater colour. I'd get the tar beat out of me for bleaching it, but I'd do it anyway. I just felt like a blonde. Don't even know what colour my hair is now. It's probably grey. Don't want to see, don't want to know."

The 63-year-old country star also admits her appearance looks very "artificial" because of the outfits and make-up she wears as well as going under the surgeon's knife.

She said: "I'm artificial. But it comes from a sincere place. And I ain't telling people to look like me. I don't say 'Oh you need to have big boobs and overdo your makeup and have nine inch nails. A lot of men think I'm just too artificial, but there are some good ol' boys there who don't."
