Jane Fonda looks good because of her sex life.

The 71-year-old actress - who is dating actor Donald Sutherland - has revealed her secret to maintaining her looks is down to regular love making sessions and the occasional visit to a plastic surgeon.

She laughed: "I'm 71 and physically don't feel so good since I'm in pain. But I'm happier, the sex is better and I understand life better. I don't want to be young again.

And for 8,000 metres my body has to run smoothly

"How do I still look good? I owe 30 per cent to my genes, 30 per cent good sex, 30 per cent are because of sports and healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and for the remaining ten per cent I've to thank my plastic surgeon."

Although she is happier than ever, the US star is frustrated she is unable to exercise as much as she is used to, following an operation on her back.

She explained to website bild.de: "I just had surgery on the spine and can only run with a solid corset. I also have a new knee and a new hip made of titanium. I'm slowly falling apart and feel like a walking spare parts depot. But I had to have it all repaired because next year in October I want to climb with my Zen teacher the Himalayas. And for 8,000 metres my body has to run smoothly."
