Jennifer Connelly still wears shoes she bought aged 15.
The 38-year-old actress hates throwing away clothes as she thinks it is wasteful, but admits she sometimes keeps items for too long.
She said: "I tend to recycle. I have Doc Martens I've had since I was 15 that I still wear. I have to retire them soon because they are falling apart!"

Although Jennifer has become known for her show-stopping red-carpet looks - she wore a green jewel-encrusted Blamain minidress to the premiere of 'He's Just Not That Into You' earlier this year - she insists her favouite outfit is comfortable jeans teamed with a T-shirt and boots.
She also finds shopping stressful, admitting her determination to find the perfect piece sometimes ruins trips to stores.
She explained: "I like nice things and I'm quite considered in my taste and thorough in my decisions. I have little patience for shopping because I get overwhelmed. There is too much stimulus and choice."
Jennifer is not the only star who likes to recycle her clothes.
Katy Perry doesn't agree with throwing pieces away just because they are old and prefers to wear clothes from several seasons ago.
She said: "I get upset when designers won't lend me something from three seasons ago because I'm like, 'That was your better season. This season sucks.' "
