Cartoon Style Icon: Jessica Rabbit

21-11-2008 14:51

Jessica Rabbit is the object of every man's fantasy, whether they are a cartoon creation or in fact a real live man. There is no shame in fancying the pants of this gorgeous cartoon creation, as she has inflated proportions which no real woman could ever lay claim to.

Her mystic and allure have made Jessica Rabbit a cult classic, ever since she appeared in the 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The film featured Bob Hoskins as a Private Detective charged with proving the innocence of Roger Rabbit, Jessica's husband who was wrongly framed for murder.

Now you may be forgiven for thinking Jessica would in fact be a rabbit like her lovely hubby but no, she is in fact, a 6ft sex siren with endless legs, a terrific bust and a teeny tiny waist. That's even before I've mentioned her seductive hair, stunning pout and silky singing voice that manages to seduce even the most stubborn of men, and in the process makes a fair few women jealous too!

Voiced by Kathleen Turner, she famously claimed "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way." And no truer words have ever been spoken, as her silhouette is unlike anything ever created on screen. The character even has a performance model for heaven's sake!

Jessica's figure-hugging red dress has been copied and recreated many times over, with celebrities clamouring to look like the seductive star. Take Geri Halliwell's 1997 Brit Awards dress- a blatant carbon copy of the dress made famous in the fabulously inventive film, and with Ginger sporting a similar hairdo and massive boobs at the time, she was probably the most like life version of Jessica we'll ever see.

Holly Willoughby too was also spotted in a similar gown while presenting Dancing on Ice, last year and the fashionistas went nuts for her sequined design. Jessica Rabbit's look is also a firm favourite for fancy dress parties, as her style is certainly distinctive, if not anything else!

So for that and everything else Jess, you are officially awarded the FemaleFirst Cartoon Style Icon status, long may you continue to be a fashion inspiration to us style-conscious ladies!
