'Tomboy' Joely Richardson

Joely Richardson says she will always be a "tomboy".

The 'Nip/Tuck' actress admits she isn't that girly when it comes to make-up and clothes unlike her late sister Natasha Richardson, who tragically died following a head injury earlier this year, and admires people who put effort into their appearance.

She said: "I think it can be amazing. My sister Tash always looked so fabulously glamorous, from her skin to her hair to her make-up to her clothes. If she walked into a room, it was a proper entrance. I have many female friends who are like that and I think it's a beautiful thing, but there's an element of me that is just more of a tomboy."

Joely went on a camping trip in Mongolia in 2008 and says she enjoyed the freedom of having no pressure to look good.

She told Britain's Tatler magazine: "It was fantastic to have nothing but the streams or lakes to wash yourself or your clothes in. No phones, no mod cons. It gives you a great sense of freedom."
